MythReactorForge is an independent studio on Lygon Street building Unreal and Unity titles, rock-solid multiplayer netcode, and live esports production for teams across Australia.

The studio
Founded in 2015 above a coffee roaster on Lygon Street, MythReactorForge grew from a two-person Global Game Jam team into a 26-person studio. We keep teams small and senior so the people pitching your game are the people shipping it.
From vertical slices to launch-day live ops, we run the full pipeline in-house: engine engineering, gameplay, technical art, and QA. We work in Unreal Engine 5 and Unity, ship to PC, console, mobile and standalone VR, and we playtest every build in our Carlton lab.
What we build
Fixed-scope builds or embedded teams — every engagement starts with a free 45-minute scoping call.
Full-cycle production in Unreal Engine 5 or Unity: prototype, vertical slice, and launch. We handle gameplay systems, technical art, optimisation and platform certification for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
Authoritative servers, client prediction, rollback netcode and matchmaking. We stress-test to 10,000 concurrent players and integrate with EOS, Steamworks and PlayFab so your launch does not fall over.
Comfort-first VR and mixed-reality builds for Meta Quest 3, SteamVR and Apple Vision Pro. Ideal for training sims, location-based entertainment and branded experiences that need 72–120fps stability.
End-to-end broadcast production: observer tooling, custom overlays, replay operators and a 4-camera desk. We have run LANs at PAX Aus and produced weekly online ladders for regional Oceania circuits.
Concept art, 3D modelling, PBR texturing, rigging and animation. Stylised or realistic, optimised for real-time budgets with LODs and atlased materials ready to drop into your engine.
Structured playtests with recruited players, heat-map analytics, device-farm compatibility passes and full bug triage. Book our lab space on Lygon Street or run remote sessions with recorded telemetry.

Rating breakdown
The netcode rebuild on our arena shooter was flawless — we went from constant rubber-banding to a stable 6v6 ladder in eight weeks. The team shipped weekly builds we could actually play.
MythReactorForge produced our finals broadcast at PAX Aus. The observer tooling and overlays looked broadcast-grade and the desk ran without a single dropped scene across two long days.
They took our vertical slice from a rough prototype to a Switch-certified release. Honest scoping, no surprises on cost, and the technical art work made the game run beautifully on handheld.
